This is a scratchbuild based on this painting by Ralph McQuarrie of the X-Wing concept. This isn’t the design they went with for the film, but to me it looks more advanced and sleek.

Studio Scale Shuttle Tydirium

Here’s a build up of the Shuttle Tydirium I’m working on from Star Wars Return of the Jedi. This is in studio scale, meaning it’s the same size as the model used in the film.

Here’s a visual of the electronics. I’m still figuring out uploading video and editing sound etc., so I apologize for the low quality.

Miniature Trek: USS Sagittarius in 1:350 Scale

From the cover art of the Star Trek:Vanguard novel Reap the Whirlwind by David Mack. With the help of the ship’s designer, Masao Okazaki, I scratchbuilt this out of poplar, styrene and bondo to make a master that was molded in silicone, then cast in resin.

I did something different this time with the decals; using a snap shot of an office building taken at night , I made the window decals for the model, giving them the appearance of inner detail including chairs, tables and even plants.

Model is 5.75″ long.

1:72 scale Clone Wars Y-Wing

I scratchbuilt this out of styrene, then cast it in resin. It’s the fully faired Y Wing seen in Star Wars the Clone Wars T.V. show on Cartoon Network.

Models is 9″ long.

Made from a 1/24 scale resin kit. This was built and painted to resemble the studio model seen in Star Wars Return of the Jedi.

Corellian Freighter “Hound’s Tooth” scratchbuild

This was a one of a kind scratch build of a Star Wars expanded universe subject. Made from plexiglas built around an aluminum channel spine, with kit bashed parts and LED lighting.

Model measures 2 feet long.

Studio Scale X Wing:Luke Skywalker’s Red 5

Built from Mike Salzo’s resin kit, this was painted to resemble Luke Skywalker’s Red 5.

Model is shown un-assembled for shipping reasons.

1:350 scale Botany Bay

After scratch building this, I cast it resin. This 1:350 scale Botany Bay was painted with more of a Star Wars theme.

Model is 11″ long.

1:72 scale Naboo Starship

This is my favorite ship from Star Wars Episode I.

This was hand sculpted, then molded so I could have a fiberglass casting. I made two versions, the chrome and a version representing what the ship may have looked like if Watto had retained ownership of the vessel if young Anakin Skywalker had lost the Pod Race. Obviously Watto wasn’t big into polishing chrome.

Model is 41″ long.

1:350 scale Romulan Bird of Prey

This was made from clear epoxy fiberglass lit with LED’s. Like the other clear fiberglass models, masks were placed on the unpainted body, then after final painting was finished, the masks were removed to allow the internal lighting to show through.

I made two versions, one with an aztec type paint scheme with heavy weathering and a traditional version reminiscent of what was seen in the original Star Trek TV show.

Model is 18″ wide.
