This 2 foot model was made from fiberglass with resin parts. A complex paint pattern was laid down using vinyl masking templates giving it a layered look. All lighting was achieved using super bright LED’s.

Made from a casting that originated from the original studio model molds, this was my first studio scale project. Several pieces were missing from this casting so I had to scratch build some of the missing parts.
Cast in clear epoxy fiberglass, painted using various shades of orange with LED lighting. Model is 32″ long.

This was my first major scratch build. It was made using plexiglass cross sections, then filled with rigid foam. After the basic shape was achieved, I then skinned it with bondo to give it a hard shell, giving it a surface where I could add the final details, and mold it for an eventual epoxy fiberglass casting. Pictured here is a build up from a fiberglass casting.
Measures nearly 4 feet.
