1/32 Trench Run Display Project
It’s time for a new project! Winter is here and these are the months I do build ups having to spend most of my time indoors build ups are a good way to pass the time during these cold winter months.
On the bench, 1/32 Trench Run Scene using the following:
1/32 TIE Fighters, 1/32 Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced Fighter, 1/32 X-Wing (More details on this below), 1/32 Death Star Turrets, 1/32 Death Star Tiles, 1/32 Thermal Exhaust Port, 1/32 Y-Wing ( More details below).
The display will be approx 8ft long and 24″ wide and 24″ Tall. This display will be divided into 4 bottom sections and 4 upper sections for ease of assembly and shipping. Why I say shipping?? I’m offering a chance for serious collectors to have this display piece in their model or theater room!
The TIE Fighters – Using the recently improved studio series by AMT , they have released TIE Fighter models in 1/32 and best of all they are highly accurate to the filming models just 25% smaller! So they are prefect to use for this display.
The TIE Advanced Fighter – Using the recent retooled Vader TIE from MPC with accurate wings and upper and lower hatch this is a perfect example of the studio model which will be used for this display,
The X-Wing Fighter – Since there is no official product of this fighter in 1/32 , I have created 3D files measured from an accurate 1/24 Studio scale model using correct measurements and calipers to make the files in 3D Cad software, printing these files at a 25% downscale I can achieve a studio accurate model in 1/32.
The Y-Wing Fighter – Since there is no official product of this fighter in 1/32 , I have created 3D files measured from an accurate 1/24 Studio scale model using correct measurements and calipers to make the files in 3D Cad software, printing these files at a 25% downscale I can achieve a studio accurate model in 1/32. This will be Gold Leader exiting the trench.
The Death Star Gun Turrets – I have created studio scale files for this as well, I will downscale them to 1/32 and make 4 of these turrets that will be on top of the display “Tile” wall.
The Trench – The trench will consists of many many tile sections in scale with the fighters, using over 20 different scratch built tiles to represent the Death Star Trench placed randomly on the trench floor , wall, top, and both sides of the display.
All fighters and gun turrets will feature lighting.
Planned project offering: This display is being offered for sale to collectors. I’m offering a limited run of 10 only. I estimate shipping in 5 boxes for the display itself. A custom metal powder coated table will be optional and that is sold & shipped by freight separately.
As of 12/03/2025 edition 01 of 10 is available to reserve or purchase. 01 is the first one out of the 10 which requires more time to complete but will be ready within 6 weeks, all editions after the first one will require 3-4 weeks build time and built to order in order, meaning I will build these in order payment received or deposit applied so if I’m currently on a clients order for example number 02 and you order one then you will be order 03 and will include the build time of order 02 and 03 a total of 6-8 weeks and all this depends on where the current state of the build log is in.
